This turkey hat makes me laugh every time I look at it and that is why it comes in at number 1 on my top turkey hat list! The turkey in question is now deciding to be the chef and is perhaps about to carve himself up! This is a plush hat that will certainly give your guests a laugh. Number one because of the expression on the turkey’s face as much as the fact that it is a great price for a great turkey hat.
At number 2 in the top turkey hat list is this full body turkey that looks like he has just been for a night at an Irish bar and has come home worse for wear! This is a great value furry bodied turkey hat!
At number three in the turkey hat chart is this plush turkey drumstick hat that looks good enough to eat (maybe!). Great for the person who is all ready to carve up the Thanksgiving turkey.
For those who want to be all geared up for the big game this referee turkey hat is perfect at number 4 on the list. Either that or you can just be the decider on any arguments that might happen!
And last but not least in my top 5 turkey hat list is this smart shimmering turkey with long yellow legs! A great price for a fun hat!

Should I Keep Ginger in the Fridge?

When you buy fresh ginger from the supermarket or greengrocer it just comes as the root of the spice and it is not refrigerated when bought. However, that applies to a lot of vegetables that you subsequently put in the fridge so what is the situation with ginger – should you store ginger in the fridge?

Well the answer is that yes, it is ideal to keep it in the fridge and if you put it in there it will lats a bit longer. In any case, keep it out of the light if you can so if it is not in the fridge put it in a dark cupboard.

Ginger will often keep for a few weeks or more and keeps better if you but it in a brown paper bag before putting it in the salad tray of the fridge.

You can also freeze ginger and it takes very well to freezing – cut it up in to usable sized chunks so that you don’t have to defrost it all at once or else grate it first and freeze it so that you can break pieces off each time you want to use it.

So, yes, keep your fresh ginger in the fridge and you will extend its life a little bit – but don’t wash it first, just store it dry.

Gadgets Priced the Same in Pounds and Dollars

So recently we have been comparing the prices of some gadgets in pounds and dollars and there seems to be a great discrepancy for some reason. So why are a lot of gadgets priced the same in pounds as they are in dollars? (if not more).

One particular item in question is the new cheap Kindle. In Amazon in the US you can get hold of this Kindle for $79 yes in the UK you have to pay £89. Why is this? If you use the current exchange rate of pounds to dollars  of around 1.6 dollars being equivalent to a pound then £89 equates to $142 – which means that the price is 80% higher than in the States – which is pretty ridiculous.

If anyone has any input about why the prices of gadgets and technology in the UK are so much higher than in the US then please leave your comments below as we would be interested to hear.

This is just one example but if you look at other gadgets then they also seem to have a similar pricing structure so why are people int he UK suffering with higher prices?

Is IndyCar as Safe as Formula 1?

With the racing world still reeling from the tragic death of British driver Dan Wheldon, questions must really be asked about how safe motor racing is and in particular IndyCar racing? Wheldon’s death occurred in a 15 car pile up in the Indianapolis 500 race when a number of cars burst into flames in a mass collision.

Trials had been underway for a safer car and ironically Wheldon had been involved in those trials, but in this day and age, with all the safety features that are available in other race series, questions must be asked about ow this can still happen.

Of course motor racing has always been a dangerous sport, there is no other way it could be when travelling at such high speeds in such small and lightweight vehicles, but one should take note of the safety record of formula 1 cars whose last death on the racetrack was that of Ayrton Senna in 1994, and it is hoped that it will stay that way.

Formula 1 has taken great pains to install numerous additional safety mechanisms in the cars and in the rules to hopefully make fatalities on the racetrack a thing of the past.  In contrast, since the death of Ayrton Senna, there have been fatal accidents in IndyCar races with Wheldon’s being the most recent.

Perhaps IndyCar and Formula 1 can take lessons from each other and learn some way to make fatal crashes a thing of the past so that more widows are not left and young children orphaned.
