How Do I Find the Parcel Size on an eBay Item That I Have Sold?

I have had this problem twice now on eBay – I have sold and item and it tells me to print the label to send it off to the buyer. However, I have clicked to print the label but am then not sure how I know what the maximum parcel size is for the item that I have sold.

This time I did get a bit of a clue when I went to print the label – as I pressed the print label button I just saw that there was the option to see the parcel dimensions instead but as I had just pressed the button before this caught my eye, I just missed it! I think this is a new feature as I definitely didn’t see it before and the home page came up with print label which it hadn’t done before (this was on my PC, not my phone).

Next time I sell something I will look more closely but I definitely can’t find it now. So if you haven’t printed the label yet you may be able to see that option.

Otherwise I will list here some of the options for parcel sizes that I have found for eBay. My item was a book with a postage cost of £2.94 by simple delivery and I could see that it was maximum weight of 1kg so that option seemed to match up with a parcel size of:

Small parcel, 1kg, 45 x 35 x 16cm

there is also a heavier small parcel option:

Small parcel, 2kg, 45 x 35 x 16cm

Large letter 35 x 25 x 2.5cm

Or there are multiple options for a medium parcel, dimensions 61 x 46 x 46cm

What I did was to go to my sold item and select ‘sell one like this’ and go to the postage options and I could see that the small parcel, 1kg matched up with the postage price of £2.94. However, the medium parcel with the bigger dimensions but the same weight (1kg) was also £2.94 so I assume that if my parcel was bigger than the dimensions for the smaller parcel but not too big for the medium parcel then I would be OK.

In an ideal world it would be easier if eBay just displayed the size of the package after you had printed the label – maybe they do and I just can’t find it – if so please enlighten me!

By the way, if you want to see how to set your own postage then check out this article.
