Clip Art on Yahoo and Google

If you use either of these big search engines to look for clip art then you will come up with a lot of options. Sometimes you can come up with huge clip art directories for free – or even if they are not free you can buy a large quantity of clip art pictures for a very small cost.

Within Yahoo they have a directory of services and in the clip art yahoo directory alone you will find over 70 websites listed that are offering different types of clipart images, either for sale or for free.

If you are looking on Google for clipart then you might want to use a Google advanced image search to find the kind of clip art that you are looking for – especially if you want to find a particular image, say of a dog or something, then you can go to the Google advanced image search and you can select the option ‘clip art’ rather than a photo or a drawing or the straightforward search will will bring up all images whether clip art or not.

Be careful when you use any clip art images though, as you need to check whether they are copyrighted or you have the right licence to use them.

Google Plus – Will it Work?

Some people are saying that google plus is the next great thing but my question is, do we already have enough social networks and are we already in overload? It is hard enough to keep track of facebook, twitter, linked in, myspace and anything else you may be a member of so are we going to benefit by the introduction of google +?

My personal opinion, as a Google fan and a gmail user, is that I will be staying away from it until a lot of my friends are using it. Currently I only have a couple of contacts on there and I don’t yet see the benefit – but then did people say that about facebook? Will people get bored of facebook and want something new and so head over to Google plus?

The one advantage that Google seem to have introduced with google plus is the concept of circles of friends or colleagues etc. This means that people can check out what particular circles of friends are up to and interact with them in that way. However, until you have a lot of circles there isn’t much use to this!

With all new concepts it takes a while for things to catch on and Google plus will likely be no different. Whether or not it catches on to the extent that facebook or twitter have I very much doubt. But then again in a few years I may have to eat my words.

UPS Tracking and USPS Tracking

Both UPS and the USPS offer tracking of packages and parcels. In fact the truth is the UPS tracking comes as standard and at any time in the process you know exactly where your parcel is and when it will get to you or the person you are sending it to. I think we really take this tracking for granted as really it was only a decade or so ago when there wasn’t really any tracking that we couold see at the touch of a button.

Each parcel is given a barcode from the moment it is collected by the UPS driver and this is scanned in whenever the parcel goes from one location to the next. So you can see when your parcel gets to the depot and when it goes out in the delivery van. If you are expecting a parcel then with UPS tracking you can tell when it is on its way to you.

USPS tracking however, does not have such a good reputation with tales of tracking not working and systems not giving the right information. The USPS Tracking has its own tracking service called the Confirm service which gives customers access to processing data for both outgoing and incoming parcels and other types of mail. However, customers need to register for this kind of data and it is more geared to businesses than to individuals.

Where Can I Get a Home Generator?

With the recent power outages in various parts of the country, the importance of having a home generator is coming to the fore. As our demand for power increases the likelihood of more power outages increases as the power companies struggle to cope and hence we need to have some kind of power back up.

Not only this, but also the increase in adverse environmental and weather conditions which are likely to cause other power outages is another reason to consider installing a home generator.

But if you are new to the world of home generators then you may be wondering ‘where can I get a home generator?

Well, if you are looking to buy a home generator or even a portable one, then there are a few things that you will need to consider before you buy one.

For example do you want a portable or a standby generator, what is your budget and how much will it cost to install the generator –  and you will also need to determine the amount of power you will need (which is measured in watts) to keep your key appliances running during a power outage.

Portable and home generators vary in cost from around $150 upwards so if you want something reasonably small then you don’t have to pay the earth to get it. Of course you can also be talking tens of thousands of dollars for a big generator with a large amount of power but it’s unlikely that you will want that kind of power for a small home back up generator.

If you check out the available home generators on Amazon then they also give you a detailed buying guide so that you can check that you are buying the right home generator for your situation.

There are many options available at different wattages and with standby generators as well as mobile or portable generators. Here are a couple of options that may be suitable.

it’s quite a complex subject so if you are not sure what you will need then check out the generator buying guide here.
