Is Bleeding Gums a Pregnancy Symptom?

This may seem like a strange question to ask, but when people are trying to get pregnant then all sorts of things can seem like pregnancy symptoms. In some cases they are completely unrelated to any possible pregnancy but in other cases they may be a sign of pregnancy.

Bleeding gums is one symptom that, believe it or not, could be a sign of pregnancy. In fact not only can it be a sign of early pregnancy, but it might also continue further into the pregnancy.

The reason that bleeding gums can be a sign of pregnancy is that when you are pregnant your progesterone levels increase and increased progesterone can increase the susceptibility of gums to the effect of bacteria from plaque, causing gingivitis. Although you should not be too worried about this, you should keep up regular checks with your dentist and if the bleeding and/or swelling of the gums seems excessive then you should make an appointment to see your dentist as it could degenerate into something worse.

So, make sure that you keep up with your dental health routine, flossing and cleaning at least twice a day, so that there is less risk of this occurring. Also, there was a study completed that showed slightly lower conception levels on those women who had worse dental health than those whose overall dental health was good. So if you are trying to get pregnant you should also ensure you are cleaning and flossing regularly.

So every year there is a top ten list of the most popular Christmas toys and one that I have noticed being on a lot of these lists may bemuse some parents a bit! it is a toy aimed at slightly younger children (although recommended for those over 3) and it is called Doggie-Doo!

Doggie-Doo is available in both the Uk and the US (see links below) and it is a game that encourages children to be aware that if they have a dog they have to pick up it’s poop afterwards if they take it out for walks. With poop always being something that makes kids laugh, this game will not fail to amuse the children when they have to ‘scoop the poop’, albeit the poop in this case is plasticine.

Wozzilroy – The New Celeb Sports Couple!

So with the demise of the old celebrity couples including this week the split of Ashton Kucher and Demi Moore, our appetite for more celebrity couples is satiated with the hottest new couple (in the sports world in any event) that is made up of the world’s number 1 female tennis player and the world’s number two golfer.

‘Wozzilroy’ as Rory McIlroy and Caroline Wozniacki have been dubbed by friends and fans alike (in fact, was the term invented by Graeme McDowell when he tweeted this picture of them recently?) have not been a couple for that long as Rory only split up with his long term girlfriend earlier in the year.

But in recent weeks they have been seen together a lot and are making no secret of their romance. With the power of Twitter these days it is possible to know what is going on as it happens, especially when the celebs themselves tweet the news!

Caroline has recently had her first golf lesson with Justin Parsons at the Butch Harmon School of Golf in Dubai and apparently Rory said that she didn’t do too badly! it certainly seems like love when they are trying out each other’s sports!

At the end of September Rory gave Caroline a golf club with the word ‘Wozzilroy’ engraved on it and she tweeted a picture for all to see:

Bookies are already laying short odds on the couple becoming engaged, getting married or having a baby on the next year or so but let’s face it, McIlroy is only 22 and Wozniacki is only 21 so it is really early days for any of that kind of speculation!

Turkey Hat for Thanksgiving

With Thanksgiving fast approaching you may be looking for a few fun things to spark up the Thanksgiving meal. If so, then maybe you can check out my ideas for Thanksgiving Games – these are suitable for kids and adults alike and will bring the family together.

Or you might decide that you want to go for the whole Thanksgiving costume scenario with members of the family dressing up in costumes that are themed towards the history of Thanksgiving.
