Michigan Hurricane?

Is a hurricane ever going to hit Michigan? In the last few decades hurricanes have become slightly more commonplace and people further from the normal hurricane paths are wondering if they are the next to be hit by a hurricane – hence the question of whether a hurricane would hit Michigan.

Well the truth of the matter is that the answer is almost definitely ‘no’. Hurricanes are formed over the sea and gather up speed and momentum by sucking up hot air that is formed over the water. The simple fact is that once a hurricane hits the land it runs out of steam, so to speak.

The life of a hurricane once it hits the land depends obviously on it’s severity when it hits and also the climatic conditions when it hits, but overall it is likely to diminish in severity to the point where it is no longer classed as a hurricane, after a couple of hours. So this fact makes it nigh on impossible for a hurricane to hit Michigan.

However, as with all kinds of storms, a hurricane may tail off into a lower category storm and some remnants of what was a hurricane may still reach Michigan, but these would not be in any was as severe as a hurricane category storm.

It is difficult to lump together all the areas of California in a kind of weather summary as the area covers quite a variety of slightly different climates due to the spread of the state and the fact that California has both coastal and mountainous areas, with weather patterns differing between these areas.

However, overall California is said to have a Mediterranean type climate with warm summers and mild winters. Temperatures however, will hit more extremes on the hot and cold fronts in the mountainous areas where winters can get much colder and snowy and  summers are  warm and dry.

With San Francisco being further north than, say, Los Angeles, it has a warm climate but is susceptible to fog, particularly in the summer, whereas Los Angeles, being further south, has weather that can be very pleasant in the summer with temperatures in the low 80’s in the summer and not getting too cold in winter with temperatures in the 60’s.

So if you are looking for California weather averages then you really need to be specific as to what area you are checking as you could be surprised if you just take an average weather temperature for the whole county.

Next Restaurant Chicago – A New Concept

A new restauratnt has opened in Chicago which has created a whole new concept in dining. It treats that restaurant just like it was a theatre or concert performance by Coldplay or something and basically sells tickets in advance for the various performances. And it seems to be working.

Next restaurant in Chicago seems to be a hit. They change the menu 4 times a year and each menu is a different type of cuisine performed but the amazing chefs that have such a wide repertoire of dishes. The food is obviously a hit as the Chicago restaurant has been sold out since opening.

In order to get tickets to the restaurant, you need to sign up on their website and then wait to get notified of any new issues of tickets. Tickets are priced depending on date and time with more popular times (like Saturday evening) being priced higher than say early evening midweek.

Tickets to the restaurant are non-refundable, just like a theatre or concert ticket would be, but no problem if you realize that you can’t make it as there is a blackmarket for them on Craigslist apparently.

So if you are looking for the next great restaurant in Chicago, then if you can, try and get hold of a ticket for the Next Restaurant, reviews are good and tickets are selling like hot cakes!

It has to be asked that, if this new concept is working so well, will other restaurants follow suit?

 

Wedding Trends – Celebrity Weddings

Wen people start planning for a wedding they are often influenced by current wedding trends ad the trends themselves are often influenced by, well celebrities. I think we don’t really realise sometimes how much influence celebrities have on our everyday life. We all want out 15 minutes (or more) of fame and we see people who really aren’t famous for anything other than being famous getting their time, and we want ours.

One of the biggest weddings of this year was that of Kim Kardashian. But let’s be honest here – what has she really done ot be famous?? All this fame and influence over people and really she has done nothing to deserve it.

Well Kim Kardashian did have a fairytale wedding and at the end of the day that is pretty much what every bride wants. However, not every bride is in the same financial situation that Kim Kardashian is and so if you are trying to replicate this kind of wedding you are in a lose lose situation by putting so much pressure on yourself.

Having said that, the thing I found a bit weird about the Kim Kardashian wedding was that everyone was dressed in white and not only did the bridesmaids look like the bride, so did the bride’s mother. All very artist but not really designed for the bride to stand out.

So, if you are planning a wedding, by all means check out some of the latest celebrity weddings but in the end, have  your own style and learn from other people’s mistakes 🙂

 

Wanting a Baby – Steps to Pregnancy

When you fist decide that you want to try for a baby with your partner it is a very exciting time.For the first few months of trying for a pregnancy you are mainly just enjoying yourself and not really putting to much pressure on having a baby.

However, once a few months has passed it is natural that you start getting a bit stressed about the situation,if you are not immediately conceiving. It is very easy to say not to get stressed as this will not help your chances btu that is just not going to happen!

However, there are a few ways that you can start to help yourself in you journey to conceive a baby. It often does take a year or so of trying to get pregnant so until this time, when your doctor can start running some tests, there are some other things that you can try.

Firstly, you really need to know when your fertile period is so that you can have sex around the optimum time for conception (the time you ovulate and generally the 3 days before).  Check out these tips on how to tell when you are ovulating for starters.

There are other herbs and supplements that you can take which may increase your chances of conceiving – from taking Evening Primrose oil in the first half of your cycle, taking royal jelly and bee pollen to improve egg quality and taking maca capsules to do the same thing, or you can use soft cups and preseed to help get the sperm where they need to go. There are quite a number of things that you to encourage a pregnancy to happen.

Whatever happens, try not to give up on your dreams of a baby as there are so many ways that this can become a reality.
