It is happening again, I don’t understand how these adverts are allowed to get through Facebook’s screening. I’ve just gone into Facebook and found two adverts within four posts of each other trying to sell me lost luggage from Heathrow Airport for £1.74 per bag.
They are both sponsored adverts, appearing in my feed from different Facebook pages and both saying you just need to pay £1.74 and you will be sent a piece of lost luggage that they have had for more than six months.
You have to enter your card details on the website to supposedly get this luggage which I guess is where the scam comes in. Who knows what happens once they have your card details.
Both of the pages hardly have any likes yet, so they have obviously just been set up, but people are already sharing these posts still believing that they are genuine. There are comments underneath about people receiving their suitcases, but these are obviously fake comments.
Again, please check the about section of the Facebook Pages before you share or comment on these posts as you should always think of the default of them being fake before doing anything.
And always follow the mantra of “if it looks too good to be true, then it probably is!”
So if you see a post offering luggage that has been waiting at Heathrow in the Lost luggage section for more than six months and offering that luggage for sale for £1.74 then it’s likely not genuine!
I ’ll also add that in the same set of posts I saw supposedly genuine Dyson vacuum cleaners being offered for £3 from Wayfair, which is also another scam! It’s getting ridiculous how many scams are in my feed constantly.
